ARSENAL V BLACKPOOL PREVIEW

Posted on: Fri 20 Aug 2010

Blackpool travel to North London tomorrow to take on Arsenal at the Emirates.

After last weekend's 4-0 win over Wigan, the 3000-strong Tangerine army will be hopeful for more of the same.

Team News

Goalkeeper Paul Rachubka is ruled out for six weeks with a knee injury and joins Keith Southern, Louis Almond and Billy Clarke on the sidelines.

But the Seasiders are boosted by the introduction of new signing Dekel Keinan, who goes straight into the squad.

Arsenal's Samir Nasri has been ruled out for a month with a knee injury but Cesc Fabregas and Robin Van Persie could both return after the pair missed last weekend's 1-1 draw with Liverpool.

Brazilian midfielder Denilson remains doubtful with an abdominal injury and new signing Laurent Koscielny misses out through suspension.

Last time out

The two sides last met in an FA Cup third round tie back in 1999, Arsenal winning 3-1.

One to watch

Marouane Chamakh

The Moroccan international joined Arsenal on a free transfer this summer after eight years at French outfit Bordeaux. Blessed with pace, power and an athletic physique, the striker could be the target man Arsenal have lacked in recent years.

The 26-year old scored 56 times in 230 appearances during his time in France, attracting the interest of Arsene Wenger.

Holloway on Wenger

"The way his teams play football is an absolute credit to him as a man and a credit to all his supporters who support Arsenal, because I think he is one of the best in the business.

"If I can one day have people talk about the way my team play the way his does then I'll be very, very proud."
