SEASIDERS SET FOR JELGAVA TEST

Posted on: Thu 02 Sep 2010

Blackpool will help mark the opening of FK Jelgava's brand new stadium this evening.

A 21-man Pool squad - minus those currently away on international duty - has made the trip to Latvia to face the 2010 Latvian Cup winners in a friendly.

Jelgava

The fixture will be the first at the Zemgale Olympic Center, with a sell-out crowd of just over 1,000 expected. The game will be attended by the State President and Prime Minister of Latvia, and the British Ambassador to Latvia. Blackpool's President Valeri Belokon will also be an avid spectator.

The Seasiders trained at the ground this morning as work continued at a pace in preparation for this evening's game.

DJ Campbell

New signing Matt Phillips will make his first Blackpool appearance in the fixture, while DJ Campbell will mark his return by wearing the tangerine colours once again.

Kicking off at 6.05pm Latvian time (4.05pm GMT), the official website will bring you the latest updates and reports from the game throughout the 90 minutes.
