POOL boss Ian Holloway has added another World Cup star to his ranks after Ghana international RICHARD KINGSON agreed a one-year contract with the option for a further year.

The 32-year-old is no stranger to Premier League football having previously spent time with Birmingham City and more recently Wigan Athletic.

The move, that is subject to a work permit and the usual clearance from the Premier League and The FA, was completed on Tuesday afternoon.

Club Secretary Matt Williams explains, "Richard flew in from Ghana on Wednesday morning, completed his medical and paperwork before heading back out on Thursday morning to link up with his national team ahead of their game on Sunday with Swaziland.

"We are currently waiting for confirmation of the player's work permit and the usual clearances from the FA and PL, but we are delighted to welcome Richard aboard."
