Blackpool midfielder Chris Basham is loving life on the Eastern Front as the Seasiders continue their preparations ahead of tonight's friendly against FK Jelgava.
Ian Holloway and his troops arrived in Latvia yesterday evening and after settling into their new surroundings they began their first training session at the Zengalle Olympic Center this morning.
And defender Basham is enjoying the change of scenery and the opportunity to get to know the new faces at the club.
"It's been good, it's a great thing to get all the lads together, it makes all the new lads feel welcome.
"I think a lot of the boys like to get away just to freshen things up especially when there's no game at the weekend, we live for the game on a Saturday, so we may as well come out to Latvia where we've been made really welcome, " he said.
With just the one substitute appearance in the league and a start in the league cup tie against MK Dons last week, Basham will be using the trip to try and force his way into the starting eleven.
"My last game was 120 minutes against MK Dons over a week ago so it'll be good to get a few minutes under my belt and show the gaffer what I can do," he added.
The Tangerines take on their Latvian opponents at 4.05pm GMT, with new signing Matt Phillips and the returning DJ Campbell likely to feature.
