ORMEROD UPBEAT DESPITE DEFEAT

Posted on: Fri 03 Sep 2010

Blackpool striker Brett Ormerod was left dissapointed by the Tangerines' defeat in Latvia but believes the game provided a much needed work out for the squad.

The Seasiders were beaten 2-1 by FK Jelgava with Ormerod getting on the scoresheet and the striker was upbeat despite the defeat.

"It's just a learning curve really, we've got a lot of young players coming back and a few lads coming back from injury.

"But it was a good work out despite the result and we got a lot of things that we needed from the game," he said.

Despite the relatively tame nature of the fixture, the 33-year old insists the pain of defeat hurt just as much as any other fixture.

"We want to win every game, no matter if it's a friendly, league game or cup game so we're all a bit disappointed but as I said it's a learning curve and good for the fitnes," he added.
