HAREWOOD TO FACE NEWCASTLE

Posted on: Thu 09 Sep 2010

Blackpool manager Ian Holloway has revealed striker Marlon Harewood will return to the squad for the weekend trip to Newcastle.

The 31-year old missed the 2-2 draw with Fulham after suffering a partial hamstring tear but returned to training on Thursday morning.

One blow for the Seasiders will be the loss of defender Alex Baptiste who injured his hand on the trip to Latvia last week.

However, with his squad back together after international duty, Holloway is determined to banish the memory of last season's 4-1 loss at St James' Park.

"Last year we felt we could go there and give a good account of ourselves; we were on a fantastic run of form and yet they turned us over quite comfortably.

"We're going to go there with a positive attitude we're going to try our best.

"I know what we got wrong at Newcastle last time, we didn't test their back four anything like as much, we passed it back into midfield over and over again, we lost it and they hurt us.

"We're going to go there and try and give our fans something to cheer about which we didn't do last year, "said Holloway.

A familiar face who is set to make the journey to the North-East is striker DJ Campbell who returned to the club on transfer deadline day and Holloway is confident he will score goals at this level.

"I believe in the boy, he helped me last year, if you look at his record he's scored one in two even in the Premiership but that was coming off the bench, I want to give him a run of games at that level and I think he'll score because his record tells me he will, " added Holloway.
