Matt Gilks and Bob Harris joined Shaun Murphy and Nigel Bond ahead of the Snooker Shoot-Out for a Paul Hunter Foundation Roadshow event this week. The goalkeeper and left-back had the chalk at the ready as they paired up with the professionals for a challenge match, as well as meeting several youngsters and signing autographs.
Gilks and Bond were victorious as they beat Harris and Murphy 2-1 in a best of three-frame match, with Blackpool's number one reliving a childhood hobby.
"I used to go and play on a Sunday afternoon when I was growing up with my brother. When we were really young we used to watch it on TV with my grandma when she looked after us," he said.
"Bobby and Shaun didn't put up much of a fight, even though they got it back to 1-1. It was only ever going to be me and Nigel that won."
Murphy and Bond are also in town for the Snooker Shoot-Out at the Blackpool Tower Circus, which starts tonight. The latter is currently the reigning champion of the tournament and some tickets are still available to go and watch over the weekend.
