Billy became Ian Holloway's first signing as Blackpool manager following his release from Ipswich Town.
The 21-year-old was a product of the Tractor Boys youth academy and made an instant impression on the side when first making the breakthrough.
Having found chances limited under Jim Magilton, Clarke made several impressive loan moves last season where he rediscovered his goalscoring form. Spells at Darlington, Northampton and Brentford ensured that there were plenty of clubs looking for his signature in the summer but it was the lure of staying in the Championship and working with Ian Holloway that attracted Clarke the most.
The striker has 11 caps for the Republic of Ireland U-21s and will now be hoping his form at Bloomfield Road will help earn him a full international cap for his country.
