Joe will be looking for a better run of luck this season as he aims to make a real breakthrough on the first-team set-up.
He joined the Seasiders from Tottenham last summer following a loan stint with the club but niggly injuries affected his chances of maintaining a push for a place in the side.
His versatility means he can play either on the left or in the centre of midfield as well as at left-back. Joe is the son of former West Ham defender Alvin Martin and has been capped by England at various youth levels. Left-back has been where Joe plied his trade for the side last season.
