Stephen Crainey capped off an incredible start to his career at Bloomfield Road by being named Player of the Year in his first full campaign (2007-08).

The left-back was acknowledged for his consistent performances in the Championship by his fellow professionals and the Blackpool supporters.

The former Celtic youth product joined the club on a free-transfer from Leeds United in 2007 and quickly became one of the first names on the teamsheet.

His great form has seen him quickly become a fans' favourite for his consistency.

After a couple of injury problems in the 2008-09 season the Scot returned to form under Ian Holloway and started 43 league games last term.

The 30-year old remains an ever-present in the Blackpool side and his absence with an ankle injury for much of January and February last season was hard felt at Bloomfield Road.
