THE SEASIDERS reserve team were in action on Wednesday night when they played host to Mike Sheron's Bury at a chilly Bloomfield Road.
Pool included Danny Coid, Alex Baptiste, Matthew Gilks and fit again Jermaine Wright in their starting eleven and two trailists who the official website understand to be of Latvian and French origin.
The visitors edged a disappointing first half and Pool were indebted to an excellent save from Matt Gilks who pushed away Jack Dorney's spot kick after Matt Kay had brought Mason down inside the box.
For Gary Parkinson's men the French trialist blazed wide in the opening stages, whilst Steve Ralston fired straight at the keeper on the quarter hour, but the best chance for the Tangerines fell to Danny Mitchley who latched onto a great through ball from Matt Kay, his initial finished was well blocked by the keeper but the rebound fell back to Mitchley but the young striker fired wide with the goal at his mercy.
The second half saw Pool make a double change with Jake Rooney and Jake Forshaw replacing Danny Coid and Alex Baptiste.
The football remained below par with neither creating many clear cut chances, however, the deadlock was broken on 70 minutes when the Seasiders defence failed to deal with a long punt forward which allowed Bury's front man to slot with ease past the advancing Gilks.
Pool to their credit battled back and parity was restored seven minutes from time when Jake Rooney's fantastic cross from the left was headed home by the Seasiders Latvian trialist.
