AN inexperienced Seasiders reserve side crashed 7-3in their opening game of the season at Carlisle United on Monday afternoon.
Pool who only included Al Bangura and Ishmel Demontagnac in their starting line up found life difficult against a more experience Cumbrian outfit. The hosts included a number of experienced players and former Liverpool striker Craig Lindfield who is on trial at Brunton Park.
The hosts raced into a 3-0 lead thanks to goals from Lindfield, former Leeds man Gavin Rothery and Tom Aldred and then the hosts netted another two goals on the half hour mark, fortunately for Pool young Carlisle defender Swinglehurst turned into his own goal whilst the highly rated Gary Madine netted Carlisle's fourth.
The second half saw the Seasiders start brightly and gave Carlisle a fright making it 4-3 thanks to an Ishmel Demontagnac penalty on 61 minutes and a goal for young trialist Troy Hewitt on 66 minutes, however, Pool's valiant comeback was thwarted when Gavin Rothery add his second of the afternoon, with Pool pressing throwing men forward in search of another goal, Carlisle capitalised to add a further two goals from the substitute pair of Cook and Bowman
