A quickfire blitz of attacking football saw a strong reserve side beat Accrington 7-1 at Bloomfield Road.
Goals from Jason Euell and Rob Edwards put the Seasiders two goals to the good before five minutes had even passed on the clock, then a further two goals - another from Euell and a great strike from Stephen Dobbie - took the score to 4-0 inside 23 minutes.
The side, which had a real first-team look about it, had far too much experience for the opposition and soon made it 5-0 prior to half-time courtesy of another effort from Jason Euell, although the striker didn't really know too much about it as the ball struck him and went him.
Pool took their foot off the gas a little in the second-half but still dominated possession, with Barry Bannan in particular causing the visitors plenty of problems out wide. Accrington did pull a goal back however through Danny Stockhall, but the joy of that was to be shortlived as Stephen Dobbie and a late own goal resulted in a 7-1 victory for the Seasiders.
A major positive for the home side was the return of Neal Eardley, the right-back played 65 minutes of the game in midfield after recovering from a hamstring tear.
