The Seasiders reserve team went down 1-0 to Chester City on Wednesday night at Fleetwood, the Seasiders who included two trailists, French left back Sylvain Meselin and English Colleges international Tom Rutter found life difficult against the more physical, robust visitors.

After an even first half Chester took the lead midway through the first half.

Coach Steve Thompson said after the match against an older, more experienced and at times robust Chester side: "We had a very young team without any first team players in it - the team gave 100 per cent, but we didn't create enough in the final third."
Thompson also singled out 'keeper Mark Halstead who has been offered and accepted a scholarship at Bloomfield Road.
"We want to bring the local talent through because it is important for the future. He has had a few niggling problems, probably due to growing pains as much as anything, and he will be joining us as a scholar."
