Barry Ferguson built his reputation as one of Britain's finest central midfielders in his time at Rangers.

Ferguson broke the club's record for appearances in Europe and had a haul of five SPL titles, five Scottish Cups and five Scottish League Cups to his name by the time he left for a second time in 2009 - in between a brief spell at Blackburn Rovers.

For two seasons prior to joining Blackpool for an undisclosed fee, Ferguson had plied his trade at St Andrews, where he was captain under manager Alex McCleish - helping the Blues to lift the Carling Cup. The midfielder couldn't save the club from relegation though and opted for a fresh challenge at Bloomfield Road.

He was handed the captain's armband by manager Ian Holloway following the departure of Charlie Adam and led the club to npower Championship Play-off final last season.
