Goalkeeper Colin Doyle became Neil McDonald’s first signing as Blackpool manager when he penned a two-year deal in June 2015.
The 29-year-old ended a 13-year stay with Birmingham City earlier in the summer and wasted no time agreeing a deal with Pool, which included an option of a third year.
Capped by the Republic of Ireland, Doyle gave competition to the likes of Joe Hart, Ben Foster and Maik Taylor during his time at St Andrew’s.
The stopper played in the Premier League, Europa League and Championship for Birmingham and will now compete with Kyle Letheren for the number one shirt at Bloomfield Road.
Injured on debut against Colchester United on the opening day, Doyle kept his first clean sheet as a Pool player at Scunthorpe United in September.
