Now a fully-fledged Scotland international, Matt Phillips had his best season to date in football in 2011-12 after scoring 12 goals for The Seasiders and finding himself in the PFA Team of the Year.
Matt Phillips' development as a player at Blackpool really came to the fore last season as he finished the campaign on 12 goals for The Seasiders.
On the back of a loan spell at Sheffield United that resulted in him finding the net on five occasions, the winger returned to Bloomfield Road full of confidence and hit two hat-tricks in the space of two weeks.
Signed in 2010 from League Two outfit Wycombe Wanderers, he scored on his Premier League debut against Blackburn Rovers and was even utilised as a makeshift right-back.
His fine form in tangerine last season resulted in a call-up to the Scotland squad and a place in the PFA Championship Team of the Year.
