A Ryan Hardie hat-trick wasn’t enough for the victory, as Huddersfield Reserves claimed the points over Blackpool Reserves at Squires Gate FC.
Huddersfield started the match in lively fashion and scored all four of their goals within the first 30 minutes.
Goals from Isaac Mbenza, Romoney Crichlow-Noble and a brace from Matty Daly put the young Terriers 4-1 up on 28 minutes, with Ryan Hardie scoring the first of his three goals with ten minutes gone.
The Seasiders could count themselves unfortunate to go into the break 4-1 down, and did well in the second half to reduce the deficit.
Ryan Hardie scored his and Blackpool’s second of the game on 73 minutes with a bullet header from a Nathan Shaw corner.
The number nine then grabbed his hat-trick five minutes from time with a well timed finish in the box after winning possession back from the Huddersfield defender.
Blackpool were close to completing the comeback at the death following a goal mouth scramble in the penalty area, but Huddersfield managed to hold on and secure all three points in the Central Development League fixture.
