Fixture | Blackpool vs Plymouth Argyle – Date | Saturday 30 December – Venue | Bloomfield Road
Blackpool see out 2017 with a home fixture against Plymouth Argyle tomorrow, kick-off 3pm.
Having had a largely successful 12 months on the field, including promotion to this division back in May, The Seasiders will be aiming to round the year off on the right note.
Last Time Out:
Blackpool gave themselves an early mountain to climb last time out, with Scunthorpe United taking a two-goal lead inside eight minutes. The Iron eventually went on to win 3-2, however The Seasiders made a real fist of it and had 25 shots on goal.
The Pilgrims made it back-to-back victories with a 1-0 win at MK Dons on Boxing Day. Gary Sawyer found the net for the first time since returning to the club in 2015.
Blackpool will hope to welcome Ollie Turton back to the squad after a four-match injury absence, while a number of others are pushing for places in the starting line-up. Kyle Vassell and Mark Cullen remain sidelined, however.
Plymouth's own injury problems have been clearing up in recent weeks, though the goalkeeping area continues to be of concern. The Pilgrims have utilised seven stoppers so far this season, with regular number one Luke McCormick undergoing ankle surgery. Emergency loan 'keeper Kelle Roos returned to parent club Derby County earlier this week, so Remi Matthews is now back at Home Park.
