Seasiders Make It Four Straight Wins

16 November 2019

Blackpool made it four consecutive wins in all competitions, with a comfortable 2-0 win over AFC Wimbledon at Bloomfield Road.

Armand Gnanduillet was the star man yet again for the Seasiders, scoring his eleventh and twelvth goals of the campaign in all competitions.

The first good opportunity fell to Sullay Kaikai on seven minutes, with a powerful effort from distance striking the bar.

Ten minutes later, Kaikai tried his luck from distance again with a free-kick, which went way over Nathan Trott’s goal.

It was all Blackpool in the early stages, and Matty Virtue’s half volley as he cruised into the Wimbledon box was well saved by the goalkeeper to keep the score goalless.

The visitors best chance of the half came five minutes from the interval. Terell Thomas’ powerful effort was well held by Jak Alnwick to keep him out.

Blackpool’s patience in the first half paid off, with a breakthrough just six minutes aftet the restart.

Armand Gnanduillet scored his eleventh goal of the campaign with a fantastic poachers finish following a great pass from Nathan Delfouneso to put him through on goal. Despite the angle closing on him, Gnanduillet curled his effort around the onrushing Trott and into the net, directly in front of the sea of tangerine in the north stand.

Blackpool dominated the game from start to finish with the visitors rarely testing Jak Alnwick.

With ten minutes remaining, Gnanduillet was there yet again to double Blackpool’s lead and secure the three points. A cross on the right from Liam Feeney found Gnanduillet at the back post who smashed it into the roof of the net.

A dominant and professional victory for the Seasiders, with a trip to league leaders Ipswich Town next up.
