Blackpool were second best at PPG Canalside on Tuesday afternoon, falling to a 4-0 defeat.
A good strike from Demeaco Duhaney before a Kieran Phillips hat-trick secured the victory for the Terriers, who impressed throughout, with new Seasiders Head Coach Neil Critchley, watching on.
The Seasiders did have a good opportunity early on through Saturday’s match winner, Joe Nuttall, but his effort was well saved by Huddersfield’s Kamil Grabara.
From there, the hosts created the best opportunities and forced Mark Howard into several good saves to keep them at bay. Howard couldn’t keep them out for long, however, with Duhaney curling a great effort into the top corner from 20 yards out before Kieran Phillips grabbed his first of the afternoon to make it 2-0 at the half-time interval.
Phillips made it 3-0 on the hour mark, poking home a cross from the right hand side before securing his hat-trick with 15 minutes remaining.
A difficult afternoon for the reserve side, who next face Fleetwood Town at Poolfoot Farm in two weeks time in the Central League.
