Manager Looking Forward To Huddersfield Test
Michael Appleton is hoping his side can take their chances when Blackpool visit Huddersfield Town on Boxing Day after seeing plenty of opportunities spurned in the defeat to Wolves.
The Seasiders suffered their first defeat under their new manager on Friday night but Appleton was not displeased with the performance and is looking for his side to create even more chances now.
"I'd like to think so with that type of pitch," said Appleton. "Hopefully the surface will be kind to us as well and I'm sure they will enjoy playing on it and using the full width of the pitch."
The reverse fixture saw Simon Grayson's side win 3-1 at Bloomfield Road but Appleton says the players won't be on a revenge mission when they head to the John Smith's Stadium.
"Obviously that match was before I came to the club but those things happen. I'm sure the players will be looking to set the record straight and hopefully we will do that.
"Simon did very well for the football club in his time here and I'm sure he will be looking forward to the game as much as we are. There will be a few players in there smarting a little bit and dying to get back out on the pitch."
It's back-to-back away games in between Christmas and New Year and Appleton is encouraging his side to go into both games with confidence and an air of positivity.
"I think at times you've got to make your own luck so you've got to keep getting in there, keep doing the right things, keep creating the chances and eventually you will hit a spell where you maybe turn a team over five or six.
"We've had a good spell at Peterborough in the second-half where we scored four and if we continue to play as well as we did against Wolves in patches we'll turn someone over in a big way."
