Ormerod Signs For Wrexham

2 July 2012

Striker Joins Dragons On Two-Year Deal

Brett Ormerod's second stint with Blackpool has officially ended after the striker opted to join Wrexham on a two-year deal.

The 35-year-old, who officially became a free agent yesterday, holds legendary status with the club and fans and departs Bloomfield Road having scored 78 goals in tangerine, including the decisive winner in the 2010 Play-off final that saw Blackpool promoted to the Premier League.

He is the only player to have scored in all four divisions for the club - and it's safe to say that a part of Brett will always be a Seasider.

"I've had seven-and-a-half years over two spells and it couldn't have gone any better," he reflected in a recent interview. "I always said when I came back that if I can have half as good a time as I did last time then I'd be delighted, but it's been unbelievably better.

"I'll always look back because it's always been my club this. This is a special place for me and it is emotional speaking about it."

Ormerod will now play for another former Blackpool favourite at the Racecourse Ground, Andy Morrell.

Blackpool Football Club would like to thank Brett for everything he has done during his time at Bloomfield Road and would like to wish him and his family all the very best for the future.
