Defender On 1-1 Draw With Bristol CityIan Evatt felt that The Seasiders looked 'very solid' and were unlucky not to come away from Bristol City with all three points.
The defender, restored to the starting line-up for the game at Ashton Gate, praised Blackpool's character to come back from behind and stand up to be counted.
"I think it was a very, very good away performance," he said. "We were very solid and they didn't look like scoring. It would have been a travesty if we'd have lost that game.
"We showed good character to come back, especially with us going one behind so late. We could have sulked and gone in our shells but we didn't, we carried on and it was a good away performance. There's a lot of positives to take."
One of those positives that Evatt refers to is fitness, with the new manager putting the lads through their paces on the training ground.
"Training has been hard but we've needed it," he admitted. "We're still learning and we're doing things that we've not done for a long, long time, especially working on things defensively.
"The lads are getting fitter and stronger and I think that showed today. We're only going to get better and better. Let's move on from here and see where it takes us," he added.
