Gerardo Bruna Netted A Second-Half Treble To Help Blackpool To A Win At Fleetwood
An experienced Blackpool side travelled up the coast this afternoon and returned home victorious following a comfortable 4-1 win over Fleetwood Town.
Both teams named strong line-ups with The Seasiders including first team hopefuls Scott Robertson, Chris Basham, Kirk Broadfoot, Angel Martinez and Ludovic Sylvestre, whilst the hosts played Jamie Milligan, Andrew Mangan, Lee Fowler and Jon Parkin, who played in an unfamiliar centre-back position.
The Seasiders got things underway on an immaculate playing surface but it was the hosts who settled quicker, opening the scoring on four minutes.
Jamie Milligan’s curling free kick was expertly met by former Pool trainee Andrew Mangan who nodded past Mark Halstead.

Gerardo Bruna tested Fleetwood keeper Chris Maxwell twice in quick succession, firstly seeing his shot turned behind for a corner following some neat approach play involving Scott Robertson, and then seeing a powerful strike from the edge of the area almost squirm under the goalkeeper's body.
Nathan Eccleston brought about another fine save from Maxwell on the quarter-hour mark. The deadline day signing raced onto a great through ball from Kirk Broadfoot but the Fleetwood stopper was equal to the
Bruna’s quickly taken free-kick on 20 minutes almost put The Seasiders back on level terms after Parkin had fouled Martinez, but Maxwell was the Fleetwood saviour once again.
Blackpool finally got the equaliser they sought after when Bruna's right wing corner found Scott Robertson, who found the back of the net with a fine stooping header from 12 yards.

With Ian Holloway watching from the stand, Pool continued to press and once again Bruna was in the thick of things; this time his quick feet and precision passing found Alberto Noguera who saw his shot whistle just wide of the keeper’s left hand post.
HALF-TIME: FLEETWOOD 1-1 BLACKPOOL
Into the second-half and Eccleston squandered a glorious opportunity five minutes after the break; Noguera dispossessed Kinsella before squaring to Eccleston who saw his finish drift agonisingly wide.
Two minutes later Blackpool did take the lead through Bruna. He latched onto a cheeky back-heel from Eccleston before firing a shot low into the bottom left hand corner.

The impressive Bruna netted his second of the afternoon on 57 minutes. Once again Eccleston was the provider with a great ball that split the Fleetwood defence wide open finding the striker, who finished first time into the bottom right hand corner.
GOAL: Fleetwood 1-3 BLACKPOOL
Bruna completed his hat trick on 62 minutes with another fine finish, this time dispatching an unstoppable finish from 25 yards.
GOAL: Fleetwood 1-4 BLACKPOOL
The Seasiders continued to look threatening but were unable to add to their tally, largely thanks to Maxwell in the Fleetwood goal who saved well from Bruna and Eccleston as the game drew to a close.
