Manager Delighted With ImpactBlackpool manager Ian Holloway has expressed his delight in Nathan Delfouneso's choice to join the club on loan, following his two goals in last night's 4-1 victory over Middlesbrough.
The 21-year-old made his first start for The Seasiders and left an immediate impression during his home debut at Bloomfield Road, leaving Ollie thrilled.
"He's a very, very good Aston Villa player and sometimes in your life you're quite sought after, and he has been," Holloway admitted. "He's played for England at all sorts of junior levels and a change of management a few years ago hurt him a little bit. The manager who was playing him left and sometimes you can stagnate a little bit.
"It's all about getting him moving and enjoying himself with our lads. I'm delighted that Aston Villa let him come to us and I'm delighted that he chose us, because he'd have had choices as long as his arm. I just want to make sure that he plays a huge part and we play a huge part in him enjoying his football. I thought you could see that last night.
"I'm very, very pleased for him because everybody needs a good start. To be fair, it was a brilliant start for him."
The overall team performance was one to savour and highlighted why fresh legs, options and change will work for the club going forward.
"All you can do is try to produce the quality that we have over the last couple of weeks - and the boys have done it again. I'm delighted, I thought they played really, really well," the manager said.
"I don't think I've ever had a group that I'm trying to galvanise like this. I don't want stars, I want all good players, I want everybody to enjoy it and I want them all to share the responsibility of playing in front of our fans, home and away. They're certainly making me feel proud at the moment."
