Ince: No Complacency

16 April 2013

Manager Demands High Standards

Paul Ince says that Blackpool can't get complacent as they look to look to secure safety in The Championship.

The Seasiders entertain Sheffield Wednesday at Bloomfield Road this evening, with the manager mindful of what a positive result can do.

Victory over Burnley on Saturday put the team on 54 points for the season and took Blackpool to 12th in the division. The target now is to quickly make it 57 points.

"I demand high standards and we can't get complacent," Ince said. "There are four games to go and a lot can happen in four games. A lot has happened in the last 10 games since I've been here so it wouldn't surprise me if anything else happens.

"I've no interest in whether we finish 10th, 11th, 12th, as long as we finish above that relegation zone and it gives me time to sit down and start trying to build for next year. Until you're safe, you can't actually do that. If we can get something against Sheffield Wednesday then I think we'll be OK.

"We know that if we win we can look forward to next season so that we don't have to take it another game longer," he added.
