Match Preview: Burnley

12 April 2013

A Look Ahead To Tomorrow's Derby

The Seasiders welcome Burnley to Bloomfield Road tomorrow knowing a win will take them above their East Lancashire rivals.

Despite only being three points behind The Clarets the tightness of the division means seven places separate Paul Ince's side from this weekend's opponents.

Blackpool will be without the suspended Isaiah Osbourne who begins his three-game ban, but Barry Ferguson returns after serving his one-match suspension.

As for the visitors, they welcome back Dean Marney (calf) who has been absent for six games and Ben Mee (knee), while Michael Duff (calf) will be given a late fitness test.

Blackpool have faced Burnley 120 times in competitive matches with The Seasiders winning 34, losing 56 and drawing 30.

Previous Meetings

20 October 2012 - Burnley 1-0 Blackpool

21 April 2012 - Blackpool 4-0 Burnley

The Clarets are unbeaten in their last four games - drawing three and winning one.

Since Sean Dyche took over at the end of October they have won nine, drawn ten and lost ten but have only lost once by more than the odd goal; a 2-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest.

Burnley are currently on 54 points, eight points of the play-offs and seven points off the relegation zone.

Stat Attack

- The Seasiders have lost twice at home to current top half sides this season - Cardiff and Charlton.

- 73% of Blackpool's goals have been scored in the second-half.

- Burnley's current run of four games without defeat is their longest unbeaten period of the season.

- The Clarets have been behind at half-time in just eight of their 41 league games so far this campaign.

The Referee

Dean Whitestone (Northamptonshire)

The only other game that Mr Whitestone has took charge of this season involving The Seasiders was the 2-1 win over Leeds United at Bloomfield Road in August.

Goals from Nouha Dicko and Matt Phillips in the final 15 minutes turned the game on its head after Tom Lees' opener for the visitors on 16 minutes.
