Manager Looking For Positive Start To The Season
The new football season is now just a day away and Paul Ince admits he is as excited as anyone to get the campaign underway after three months without league football.
He takes his Blackpool side to newly promoted Doncaster Rovers and is expecting a typically tough test against a side who are still on a high after last season's success.
"I think everyone is looking forward to the start of the season," said Ince.
"When you come into pre-season and you're getting yourself fit, you just can't wait to get the games started.
"We've had four or five games building up to Doncaster and I think the lads are chomping at the bit."
Former Pool forward Paul Dickov took over the reins at the Keepmoat Stadium in May after a few months out of work and Ince knows only too well the determination and drive that a manager has after time out of the game.
"Doncaster have just come up and have got a new manager so they will be wanting to impress. There will be a good atmosphere there.
"Dickov plays the right style of football as do ourselves, so I think it will be a good game and it's important to get off to a good start.
"We all know what The Championship is like - it's 46 cup finals. Every game is demanding and you want to be able to rest players and you can't do that with 13 players, but myself and the chairman are working hard on bringing some more players in," added Ince.
