Blackpool bring in 2014 at Hillsborough
Blackpool will hope the new year will start better than the last one ending, with three points being taken Sheffield Wednesday on New Year's Day.
Without a win in six, Paul Ince's men could do with a boost against the team they last beat, back in November.
The Owls' defeat at Bloomfield Road was the last of Dave Jones' reign, but despite a slight upturn in results, they remain in the bottom three going into 2014.
Unbeaten in two over the Christmas period, Wednesday drew at Blackburn and Charlton, which will have helped Stuart Gray's case for taking the job permanently.
The Hillsborough clash could be the final game for a host of loanees on either side, before the half-season deals expire.
Those in tangerine will hope to bring in 2014 positively, and a victory could move Ince's men level with sixth, as The Championship continues its tight nature.
Chris Basham will miss the trip to Yorkshire, after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season on Sunday, whilst Kirk Broadfoot will again miss out.
Jack Robinson picked up a hamstring injury against Brighton, so may well miss the trip.
Meanwhile, Ricardo Fuller will hope to be involved, as he recovers from injury, whilst the game will come too soon for Isaiah Osbourne.
Dan Gosling, Nathan Delfouneso, Marvin Zeegelaar, Tyler Blackett and Bradley Orr will all see their loans end after the game.
Blackpool are without a win in six, and took just one point from 18 available during December. Their last victory came against Wednesday's opponents, The Owls.

Post-Jones life began well for Wednesday, but their form has stuttered in recent weeks, preventing them from leaving the relegation zone. Unbeaten since Christmas, but The Owls have won just twice at home this campaign.

Blackpool beat Sheffield Wednesday at Bloomfield Road in November, 2-0 that day, and that was the score the last time the pair met at Hillsborough last season. Last season Thomas Ince and Ludovic Sylvestre were on target, whilst the pair drew 0-0 in Lancashire.
Complete Record: Blackpool wins: 27. Draws: 16. Sheff Wed wins: 39.
The only connection between the two teams is Wednesday's Miguel Llera, who made one cup appearances for Blackpool.
Nigel Worthington and John Hills are two other players who've represented both clubs.
