Tommo: We Need To Be Clinical

8 February 2013

Caretaker Boss Looking For Goals From All Areas

Steve Thompson is pleased with the amount of chances his side is creating but has urged his players to be more prolific in front of goal.

Thomas Ince has found his scoring boots again and Tommo is encouraging others to be more confident and take on the goalscoring mantle.

"We're not having much look but we showed enough spirit and character in the Barnsley game, while creating a lot of chances but we just need to be more clinical in front of goal," said Thompson.

"We can't keep relying on Incey. People need to start popping up with goals from all over the park, from the midfield to the strikers.

"We need to keep his (Ince's) form going and start getting goals from different areas.

"We are creating chances, which is a massive plus."

Thompson has made out that his job has not changed since the Barnsley game and has continued to work with the players so they are fully prepared for the visit of Millwall.

"I've just got to makes sure the lads are up for it, they are organised and ready to go on Saturday. Myself and the staff have managed to stamp our authority on it with certain things.

"We're the home team, we've got to take the game to them. We looked at the stats from the Barnsley game and the passes and the final entries are up there with what we expect, it's up to us to make sure we get on the end of them."
