Broadfoot Looking To Bounce Back

17 January 2013

Defender Aiming For First Win in 2013

Kirk Broadfoot admits that Tuesday night's FA Cup exit at the hands of Fulham was a bitter pill to swallow, but is already looking forward to a clash with table-toppers Cardiff City on Saturday.

The Seasiders were just seconds away from a fourth round tie with Manchester United when Kieran Richardson struck to send the game into extra-time, before Brede Hangeland headed in the winner in the 116th minute.

"It's hard to take to be honest," said Broadfoot.

"We had chances to win the game, they could say they chances to win the game too, but at the end of the day it's hard to take when you are that close to winning.

"That's football, you just need to pick yourself up, dust yourself down and get on with it because we have got a big game on Saturday."

Blackpool are in search of what would be their third manager of the season but the 28-year-old is refusing to use that as an excuse.

"It's part and parcel of being a professional footballer; people come and go at football clubs, players go, managers go and I think you just need to be professional by getting your head down and getting on with it."

"It's business as usual. We will come in and train for a big game on Saturday against Cardiff. Hopefully we can get ready and we will prepare as best we can and look forward to the game.

"It's been a funny season with managers. You've just got to deal with it and get on with it."
