Winger Raring To Go
Matt Phillips is hoping to make up for lost time in a Blackpool shirt, after returning to action as a substitute against Cardiff City on Saturday.
The winger, 21, has been on the sidelines since mid-November following an operation on his toe, having initially played through the pain barrier for a couple of games.
Despite barely training with the first-team since his return, Phillips was named on the bench for the match against the current league leaders due to a number of other players being out with illness.
"I've been in for the last 10 days with the development squad and getting a bit sharper with the ball and things like that. It was good to get back out on the pitch and I'm delighted to be back," he admitted.
"I'm raring to go. I was out for just short of two months so I'm hungry and ready to get back in the team. I was playing with an injection (before my operation) and that just made it worse so I've learnt from my mistakes and thankfully everything was fine out there."
The Seasiders' number seven is now looking to build on his cameo role at Wolves this weekend, with the players determined to come through a tough period.
"There are no easy games in this league but we're united as a team and we'll stick together and pull each other through. Hopefully we can change our results around now and kick-on," he added.
