Final Update From Portugal
In the final installment of his Portuguese diary, Angel Martinez reflects on a very hard day and prepares for home...
Today was the longest, the hardest and hottest day and we worked very, very hard in the morning and the afternoon before Yoga. The Yoga was a pleasure and helped to relax. In a few days we will feel better and be stronger people. We will feel really good on the pitch and keep the intensity for 90 minutes.
Now is time for some rest tonight so we will enjoy the sofa, have a chat with the family and be proud of how we have been working.
Tomorrow we fly home but my family are still in Spain. We've had a good week of working very, very hard and everyone will now see their family and friends and then play a match next Saturday. Pre-season is a hard time and everybody just wants to start the matches and play.
I didn't expect people to love my diary but it's a good way to be connected with the fans. I know that the fans are waiting in Blackpool for the first friendly match after a long summer without football. Everyone wants to know about the team and how we are trying. We can't wait to see the fans at Bloomfield Road.
