Full-Back Looking Forward To Pre-Season Work
Pre-season started today and for some it can be a day that is dreaded, but that wasn't the case for Bob Harris.
The 25-year-old was chomping at the bit to get back to training after being off since the start of May.
"I think we had six weeks off and for me it was too long," said Harris.
"I was away for the first two weeks we were off and then I started training again to try and keep my base fitness, so I'm glad to be back training."
Some specific fitness testing was completed this morning before the players all took part in the bleep test this afternoon, with the left-back pleased with his general level of fitness.
"It was alright. I've kept myself ticking over, over the summer and we even had a bit of sunshine today so it was good!
"As it stands Crains hasn't signed a new deal yet, but it doesn't matter if he is here or not as I am hoping to play more games this season.
"If Stephen doesn't sign then I'm sure we will be looking for somebody else to come in as well as we need competition for every place. I will just keep working hard and hopefully this season I will get my chance."
The players will now head to Portugal on Sunday morning for a pre-season training camp in the Algarve and Harris is looking forward to some more good weather.
"We will get nice weather for the week and we will probably be doing two or three training sessions so we will get the lads up to top fitness. We are all looking forward to getting away and getting a bit of sunshine."
