Victory In Skelmersdale
Blackpool FC Under-12 Girls came back victorious from the Skelmersdale NSPCC tournament on Saturday, after beating their Manchester City counterparts in the final.
A strike from Ellie Spooner was enough to separate the two sides, as the girls capped off a sensational showing at the ever-popular event.
Having recorded victories over Burnley, Town Green, Heyside Angels, Dynamo Rangers and Buxton Bolts in the group stage, goals from Gemma Thrower and Beth Slater secured a 2-0 victory in the semi-final over rivals Preston North End.
The appearance in the final was Pool's second in three years and the 1-0 win ensured that the girls maintained their incredible winning run, scoring a total of 17 goals in the process, as well as keeping clean sheets in all eight of their fixtures.
