Striker Looking Forward To Good Friday Fixture
Matt Derbyshire hopes to make a triumphant return to Ewood Park tomorrow, as he looks to fire Blackpool to an important victory.
The 26-year-old started his professional career with Blackburn Rovers and scored 10 league goals for his boyhood club before leaving back in 2009.
The striker hasn't played against his former club at his old stomping ground since so the Good Friday fixture is one that he's very much looking forward to.
"As everybody knows, I played for Blackburn and I'm a Blackburn supporter. I've played against Blackburn before when I played for Birmingham but it'll be nice going back to Ewood Park because it'll be the first time I've played at Ewood Park, if I do play," he said.
Although he wouldn't celebrate if he opens his account for his latest club, Derbyshire will be nothing but tangerine come kick-off.
"I want three points for Blackpool and nothing else," he admitted. "We need to crack on now and start picking some points up to make us more mentally stronger. Our defensive record has been great in the last couple of games since the gaffer has come in but we just need to produce at the other end of the pitch.
"We've got some fantastic young players and older plays as well so I just hope we can finish the season off on a high."
