A Look Ahead To Tomorrow's Lancashire Derby
The Seasiders travel to East Lancashire rivals Blackburn Rovers tomorrow with just goal difference separating the sides.
It's been just under three weeks since the last away game for Blackpool, when they overturned a one-goal deficit at Watford to come away with maximum points.
Chris Basham and Barry Ferguson are both doubts for the game at Ewood Park after suffering nasty head injuries recently and will face late tests.
As for the home side, they will be hoping their stoppage-time equaliser against Burnley two weeks ago can help galvanise them ahead of another derby match.
The Seasiders have faced Blackburn 45 times in competitive matches with Pool winning 21, losing 12 and drawing 12.
Saturday 15 December - Blackpool 2-0 Blackburn Rovers
Saturday 19 March - Blackburn Rovers 2-2 Blackpool
Gary Bowyer has been placed in temporary charge of Rovers for the second time this season following the departure of Michael Appleton last week.
Bowyer was in charge of the Ewood club for four games over the New Year period where he led the team to three victories and one draw.
Earlier in the season Eric Black took charge in between the departure of Steve Kean and the arrival of Henning Berg, with the latter being at the helm when Rovers visited Bloomfield Road back in mid-December.
- Blackpool's most common away scoreline is 1-1, which has happened on four occasions.
- The Seasiders have led at half-time in just seven of their 38 league games this season.
- Of Thomas Ince's 18 goals this campaign, 11 have come away from home.
- Jordan Rhodes is Rovers' top scorer with 19 goals so far this season.
Mick Russell (Hertfordshire)
The last game involving The Seasiders that Mr. Russell refereed was the 0-0 draw with Bristol City just four weeks ago.
