Midfielder Enjoying Goal-Scoring Form
Ludovic Sylvestre netted his fifth goal of the season on Saturday although none have been quite so dramatic as his last-minute winner against Derby County.
With The Seasiders seemingly heading for what would have been their tenth draw at Bloomfield Road this season, the Frenchman stepped up to send in a sublime volley.
The 29-year-old has scored three goals in April, all of which were arguably unstoppable and when asked where his goal-scoring form has come from he wasn't quite sure.
"Whenever you score a goal it's a goal, but I think against Derby it was a special one because it was the last minute. I was happy to score and I'm happy for the club, the fans and everybody here.
"To be honest when I was playing I wasn't thinking about the pressure as all we wanted to do was to win and it is what we did so that is the most important thing. It wasn't easy but I think we deserved the victory."
Despite safety now secure, Sylvestre is not in the mood for entering 'holiday mode' just yet and sees Saturday's trip to the Reebok Stadium as a big game.
"We know that Bolton is still an important game because it is a derby match and we always want to play well in that type of game away from home. We have to have a good game and then we can perhaps relax after it."
