Work Progressing At Bloomfield Road
Work on the Bloomfield Road playing surface is continuing as the pitch is prepared ahead of next season.
The ground staff have followed a strict programme in order for the pitch to remain in the best condition possible throughout the 2013/14 campaign.
The top 40mm of organic matter was removed shortly after the season-end using a Koro Field Top Maker.
Following the removal of the organic matter, the existing fibre sand was power harrowed and left to oxygenate for 24 hours on the recommendation of Mansfield Sand.
Approximately 319 tonnes of fibre sand (supplied by Mansfield Sand) was applied, which was split into three stages, before the surface was prepared using a Harley Rotary Rake.
The last of sixteen 25kg bags of Bar Seven RPR grass seed was used across the surface yesterday and the results of that are expected to be visible in the next seven-ten days.
