Basham Looking Forward To Bolton

1 October 2013

Midfielder Relishing Clash Against Former Club

Chris Basham can't wait to take on his former club Bolton Wanderers this evening, despite many of his former team-mates having moved on.

The 25-year-old started his professional career with The Trotters and made 19 league appearances prior to moving to Blackpool in 2010.

A lot has changed for both sides since, with former Seasider Alex Baptiste just one of a few familiar faces that Basham knows in the opposition dressing room.

"Alex Baptiste has gone there and Adam Bogdan the goalkeeeper is still there. Mark Davies is injured and not playing so that's about it really, there's been massive changes and different management," he said.

"Obviously Baps was a team-mate at Blackpool for three years so it will be strange and exciting going up against him. It's always nice to play against your pals so it should be good."

The visitors arrive at Bloomfield Road without a win in their first nine league games, yet Basham is well aware of the talent on show.

"I looked at their team at the start of the Yeovil game and on paper they look brilliant, they've got everything," he admitted. "They've got Spearing in midfield who has come from Liverpool, they've got Beckford up front who looked very dangerous at Huddersfield last year, they've got Baps and lads who played in the Premier League for a number of years.

"They're just waiting to click but hopefully that's not against us. We're in good form and we're undefeated at home still so that's something we'll look to continue.

"We've drawn our last two games so we've got to come into this looking to win. We're high on confidence and the lads are looking forward to the game."

Supporters are reminded that the game against Bolton Wanderers this evening kicks-off at 8pm.
