The striker's thoughts ahead of the Forest trip
Saturday’s trip to Nottingham Forest will provide Steve Davies with the opportunity to make amends for his costly own goal last time out.
The striker’s stoppage time lapse in concentration denied Blackpool victory against Blackburn, but that is now out of his head.
Instead he is concentrating on recording a positive result at the City Ground this weekend.
“It’s going to be a tough game, they’re a top team, but we’ll go there looking for three points as we do every game,” said Davies.
“It was frustrating how Blackburn turned out, but it’s just one of those things.
“I gave away a silly foul and was too eager to get rid of the ball. It was a lack of communication, I was just focussed, but the lads said afterwards that somebody could have given me a shout because I was stretching.
“It happens, everybody scores own goals, I was just in the wrong place at the right time.”
His inclusion on Saturday may well come off the bench, meaning he is even more determined to make an impact.
“Every player wants to be playing, but I’m not the kind of lad that goes screaming and shouting. Ricky has done brilliantly since he’s been here and deserves his shirt. I’ll be there to support him,” he said.
