The Manager Gives His Thoughts Ahead Of The Blackburn Game...
Although he’ll be absent from the dugout tomorrow, Paul Ince feels his team are well prepared ahead of the visit of his former club, Blackburn Rovers.
The managerial merry-go-round at Rovers has eased, and Ince’s friend Gary Bowyer has steadied the ship.
However, the Blackpool manager is focussed on the task at hand, ahead of another Lancashire derby.
“Every game we treat like a cup final, because every time we treat it like it’s our last,” Ince said.
“Gary Bowyer has done a fantastic job, he was my under 18s manager when I was at Blackburn, he’s a top man and I’m glad he’s been given a chance.
“He’ll come here and expect to get a result, that’s the way he thinks and you can see that in his team.”
Meanwhile, Ince will have ensured his side are fully prepared to face one of the league’s most lethal strikers.
Jordan Rhodes is Blackburn’s major weapon, and his nine league goals put him level at the top of the scoring charts.
“He is a fantastic striker, every season he scores goals for fun. His movement, anticipation, he always seems to be in the right place at the right time.
“We can’t be too aware of him, because that might allow someone else to go in and score. The lads know what he’s all about, they’ve played against him, and they’ve got to concentrate for 95 minutes or he’ll punish you.
“A side with a natural goal scorer is always going to be dangerous, but we’ve done our homework,” he said.
