Pool Boss Takes Accolade For August

Paul Ince has today been named Sky Bet Championship Manager of the Month for August.

The 45-year-old receives the accolade after guiding Blackpool to the top of the table, following an unbeaten start to the campaign.

Despite a number of injuries to key personnel, The Seasiders have picked up victories against Doncaster Rovers, Barnsley, Reading and Watford and drawn another fixture away to Middlesbrough.

Sean Dyche, Eddie Howe and Harry Redknapp were all shortlisted for the award.

Former Charlton Athletic manager Alan Curbishley chairs the Sky Bet Manager of the Month judging panel.

He said: “It’s been a fantastic start for Blackpool in Paul Ince’s first full season in charge at Bloomfield Road.

“The Seasiders have been very solid in defence and are the early pace setters in the Sky Bet Championship in what promises to be another very exciting campaign.”

In Sky Bet League 1 club boss Russell Slade was named Sky Bet Manager of the Month.

The Sky Bet League 2 Manager of the Month Award went to Chesterfield boss Paul Cook.

The Manager of the Month judging panel comprises former Charlton Athletic manager Alan Curbishley; Sky Sports Football League expert Don Goodman; Football League Chief Operating Officer Andy Williamson; League Managers’ Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet Head of Football Paul Wiggins.
