Manager On First Win In ChargeLee Clark was delighted to pick up his first three points as Blackpool manager with a 1-0 victory over Birmingham City.
A goal from Steven Davies helped cut the gap a little at the bottom and extend The Seasiders' unbeaten run in the league to three games.
"I'm delighted, I thought we deserved it. When you win a game and you keep a clean sheet, you're extremely happy so I'm a happy guy tonight," he said.
"We stopped probably the form team in the division from creating many opportunities, and they're always a threat from set-pieces with Cotterill's ability.
"That means three unbeaten now and performances are getting consistent. The players are getting fitter in the setup that I want to do and we've closed the gap a little bit, but we've got to continue that. The belief, application and standards have to be the same."
The goal for Davies was his second inside a week, with the manager full of praise for the striker since his return to the fold.
"He's shown me his ability in training, we've got some good footballers in the middle of the field and in the wide areas so I think a big target man who has got a good touch complements them.
"People can move off him because they know the ball is going to stick, he can play one-touch football and he's a good finisher. We believe we won't see the best of him for a few weeks because he won't be match fit to complete 90 minutes for a while. He'll get better week by week," he added.
