Clark: Injuries Clearing Up

23 December 2014

Positive News On Cubero, Nosworthy and Mellis

Lee Clark says things are looking up on the injury front for Blackpool, with a number of players set to return to training this week.

The Seasiders have been without the likes of Jose Miguel Cubero and Jacob Mellis recently, while Nyron Nosworthy picked up a problem against Bournemouth on Saturday.

"We're getting plans for Cubero to possibly join in training, at some stage, with the group tomorrow," the manager confirmed. "That's a bonus for us to have him back in and around us, even if it's only for the early part of the training session.

"Nyron has had a scan and he's got a slight issue in and around his groin and hip area, but there's still an outside chance he could be fit. Jacob Mellis will be joining in with the group tomorrow so things on the injury front are looking up. Hopefully we start gaining some more players."

Meanwhile, Tony McMahon and Steven Davies returned to Brian House Children's Hospice this afternoon to donate some money on behalf of the squad prior to Christmas.

"The lads were touched when they visited earlier in the month and wanted to offer some support," Clark said.

"It's a terrific gesture from the players to donate some salary for the hospice. I'm absolutely delighted with the reaction of the players on that one."
