Winger On First Pool StrikeChris Eagles couldn't hide his delight after bagging his first goal in a Blackpool shirt on Saturday.
It may not win any Goal of the Season awards, but his close-range effort at The Valley helped secure Pool a point.
After pouncing following a melee in the penalty area, both Eagles and Nyron Nosworthy wheeled away celebrating, but it was the winger claiming the goal.
“I just chucked myself at the ball hoping it would go in, I got a touch and I was just so happy,” said Eagles.
“As long as the ball is in the net I don't really care who scores, but I'll always remember the goal because it's my first for Blackpool, and hopefully there are many more to come.
“A point is better than nothing. It was a great header from Davo (Steven Davies), it's nice to get another point and keep on everyone's tails.”
It was Eagles' fourth match in a Pool shirt, all of which have resulted in at least a draw, and the winger feels he is continuing to regain fitness.
“I feel strong and every week I'm getting better. I'm doing leg strength and running, and I had more shots at Charlton.
“In training I'm still doing a lot of extra shooting, because I still don't feel like I'm striking the ball as well as I should be.
“It's going to be a massive test over Christmas with the two games, but I've been out for a long time and I'm just happy to be out there,” said Eagles.
