Stephenson Joins Coaching Staff

18 December 2014

New First-Team Coach In Place

Blackpool manager Lee Clark has added Paul Stephenson to his coaching staff as first-team coach.

The former Newcastle United, Millwall, Brentford, York and Hartlepool United midfielder previously worked with the manager at Norwich City and Huddersfield Town.

"Paul is a popular and well respected coach who I know very well. He was a key part of my backroom team at Huddersfield and he'll bring a lot to the club moving forward," Clark said.

The 46-year-old, who was most recently assistant manager at Accrington Stanley, replaces Noel Blake, who left the club earlier this week.

"I’d like to place on record my thanks to Noel for all his effort and hard work during my time at the club. He played a vital role in helping me adjust to life at Bloomfield Road and I wish him nothing but the very best for the future," Clark added.

Stephenson becomes the fourth member of staff to be added by Lee Clark, joining Alan Thompson, Malcolm Crosby and Mick Rathbone at the club.
