David Perkins answers a few quick-fire questions to reveal more about his career and life in the Blackpool FC lowdown. 

Who was your sporting hero growing up?


John Barnes was my favourite player, he had the skills.

What is your career highlight so far?

Probably getting into the league as a professional footballer at a late age. I didn’t get to League Two until I was 25.

And the worst moment…

Being on loan at Stockport was a bad one.

Who was your first junior football club?

Abergele Football Club.

If you could change one rule in football what would it be?

No throw-ins, you’ve got to pass the ball back in.

Who is the best player in your position in the world currently?

Luka Modric

What is the one programme on TV you can’t miss?

I don’t watch too much TV but I was watching I’m A Celebrity when that was on.  

If you could have dinner with three famous people, dead or alive, who would you invite?

Leonardo Di Caprio, Sergio Garcia and Mila Kunis.

What is your trademark dish in the kitchen?

A bit boring but pasta bake.

In a film of your life who would play you?

I don’t think anyone is ugly enough to play me.
