Fuller & MacKenzie Still InjuredBlackpool will be without Ricardo Fuller and Gary MacKenzie for the game against Doncaster Rovers on Saturday, Barry Ferguson has confirmed.
The experienced duo, who didn't feature at Barnsley, are set for three-to-four weeks on the sidelines with hamstring and ankle problems, respectively.
"I spoke with the physio and Ricardo's going to be out for three or four weeks," Ferguson told the media. "He's a big loss, a massive loss. Gary MacKenzie is also out for three or four weeks so that's two massive players for us. We've got to get on with it, it's as simple as that.
"We've not got the biggest of squads, we know that, but there's guys who can fill in there and it's upto them to go and show what they can do."
The Seasiders' skipper took charge of training at Squires Gate this morning following the departures of Paul Ince, Alex Rae and Steve Thompson. Juggling his responsibilities, he has been assisted at short notice by Malky Thomson and Bob Malcolm.
"It was going to be difficult for me to do it all myself because I've got to do a bit of training myself. I asked a couple of boys who I worked with in the past from Rangers and Birmingham and they've took time out to come down and give me a hand, and I appreciate that.
"The response I've had from the guys has been excellent. I couldn't ask for anything more. Their attitude was first class, the tempo was really high and I was happy with it. That's all I can ask of them.
"My main concern is to get the boys right up for Saturday and hopefully get three points," he added.
